Birth control/menstrual question?

this month i decided to skip my green pills because we were going camping during the time i was supposed to be on my period. well instead of not getting my period, i discharged a dark brown thick 'goop' the entire week, and this week. A total of now two weeks of this. I know this isn't normal, and was wondering if anyone has any idea what it could be.
Answer:
You don't mention which birth control pill you're on, but phasic pills (ones where the level of hormone changes from week to week in the pills) make it more difficult to skip periods by just not taking the inactive pills. Green pills make me think you may be on Ortho-tri cyclen or ortho-tri-cyclen lo, which is a phasic pill. What you're experiencing is normal, and may actually continue until your green pills for this pack. It will end though.

In the future, if you want to skip a period, and you're on a phasic pill, what you can do is either get two packs at once, label them A and B and take them as follows:

Pack A, week 1
Pack B, week 1
Pack A week 2
Pack B, week 2
Pack A, week 3
Pack B, week 3,
Pack A, week four

throw out the green pills from pack B. When you've taken all seven green pills from pack A, begin a new pack at the beginning.

Another way to skip your period with phasic pills is to take the first pack, week 1, week 2, week 3, and then take the second pack backwards, beginning with the third week of pills, followed by the second, and then ending with the first, then taking seven days of green pills.
actually it is, I was on my period, which was so unvbelievably heavy, for a month after I got off birth control. I think that goop is an accumilation of lining (your period is when the lining if your uterus comes off every month).
wow. i have no idea. i so wish i could help.
Let that be a lesson to you. It's not nice to fool with Mother Nature.
