Birth control?

ive just swiched from taking my birth control from about 5 at night to at 9 in the morning, (i will take it at 9:00 every morning) how much more of a chance do i have from getting pregnant from changing this time?, and how long will it take for it to get in my system?
Answer:
It shouldn't be too bad, you could always use an alternative form of protection for a few weeks just to be on the safe side.
you shoulnt have a problem in getting pregnant. You wont get pregant! It will already be in your system since you were already taking it. The only time you would run into a problem would be if you went right off of it for 3- 4 days then you would run a risk of pregnancy.
No worries just keep taking it daily at that time. (9am)
You've got anywhere from 1 chance in a 1000 to 12 chances in 100 of getting pregnant on birth control, depending on where you read about failure rates. I don't think that switching the time you take it will affect your chances of getting pregnant, especially since you're going to be taking the pill 8 hours sooner than you otherwise would have. It's not like you're skipping a day or anything.

If you're worried about it, wait to switch until you start a new pack.

Birth control?

whats the best birth control. i was thinking about seasonal(sp) but i dont know.
Answer:
Personally, I have only been on the pill for a year. My GYN put me on ortho-tricyclin LO... Its been really great for me. It cleared my skin, regulated AND shortened my period, and it has really reduced my cramps. I know that taking a pill gets kind of annoying sometimes but its better than not using anything at all. I think my biggest concern was that I would gain weight but I've actually lost weight (without diets). So, I think that Ortho LO is great but then again I've never tried any other form of contraceptive (with the exception of condoms).
Hope I helped..
try EVRA, the ones that you can stick on your upper arm.
Consult your doctor.
I have been on birth control for 15 years the doctors just recently told me i need to make plans to do something else
soon. So i would tell you to figure the factors of your age, kids,
player.
NUVARING! You put it in (you cannot feel it, and neither can your partner) for 3 weeks, and take it out for 1 while you have your period! No worrying with a pill everyday at the same time...I also used to have a very heavy period that lasted a full 7 days... with the ring, it is light and lasts 2-3 days. TRY IT!
I have an IUD placed after I had my second child. There are 2 kinds that my OBGYN explained to me. One is the 5 year and the other is 10 year. It is a plastic thing shaped like a "T" that produces hormones that stops you from producing eggs. I like it because (5 year one) I don't have to take oral contraceptives everyday (which I always forget!). Also it made my menstruation very light to none. Make sure that you ask your dr. which one will work best for you and have it checked by your dr. annually. Good luck!

Birth control?

My period is very abnormal, even though I haven't had it that long. It can take me up to two or three months till I finally get it again. Do you think I should take birth control to regulate it? I am fourteen but it took me from August to January to get it again and now I get it every two months and now even longer. What do you think?
Answer:
If you haven't been having your period for very long, it's normal for it to be irregular. If you're getting it every two months now, it sounds like it's starting to even out. I would wait a bit longer and see if it settles into a monthly pattern. Don't take birth control if you don't need to, because even though the risks that go along with it are low at your age, they still exist. If you are worried, talk to your mom or your doctor.
I never had a regular period from the time I started until I finally went on birth control at 17. It's probably a good idea to give yourself five years of natural periods to see if they settle down before you override them with birth control - as you don't actually get a natural period when you are on the pill, just a withdrawal bleed.

Birth control?

I heard you can still get pregnant while on birth control (pills). What happens if you are pregnant (but you do not know) and continue to take the pills?
Answer:
While you CAN get pregnant on the pill, the chances are exceptionally low (even with imperfect use, the pill is still 95% effective).

If you skip on period, take a HPT. If you take the pill and skip 2 periods, you should make an appointment with your doctor immediately.
The most immediate concern is to make sure the fertilized ovum (if one exists) is in proper placement. Commonly, ectopic (tubal) pregnancies occur while on BCPs.
As for the fetus, most likely the problem might be low birth weight, but only very close observation of fetal development will determine what might happen.

If you think you're pregnant, make an appointment with your doctor without delay!
This one lady got pregnent even after she had her tubes tied. I was asking her husband what kind of sperm he has. I still had my period for awhile even.
First things first, you need to take a pregnancy test to find out if you are pregnant or not and if you are you need to stop taking the pill right away.
Yes there are ways you can get pregnant while being on the pill one of them is when you miss a day or two and then you try to double up on the pill sometimes it's to late.
All forms of birth control have a failure rate. When human use/error is involved, those failure rates increase.

What happens if you take birth control pills while you're pregnant?
If you continued taking your birth control pill because you didn't realize you were pregnant, don't be alarmed. Despite years of this accident happening, there's very little evidence that exposure to the hormones in birth control pills causes birth defects.

Still, the birth control pill is a potent estrogen. Lessons learned from women who took diethylstilbestrol 鈥?a synthetic estrogen that was later linked with cancer 鈥?to prevent miscarriage in early pregnancy suggest that such exposure should be minimized.

Once you learn that you're pregnant, stop taking the birth control pill.

Birth control?

ive never started my period.
im 16.
is taking birth control a sure factor to make you start?
Answer:
Your 16?!? You need to see your OBGYN ASAP!
No. If you've never gotten your period, you don't need birth control.
No its not, and not safe either if your body isnt ready yet.
no, that doesn't help or have anything to do with it. Why would you need birth control, if yo haven't started your period yet?
don't worry about it! when you do start you'll get it every month until you're 50+ years old. enjoy it while you can.
I have heard that it works, but there must be other issues if you haven't started at 16. Are you over or under weight, or under a lot of stress

Birth control?

just started Yasmin today, but I took it in the morning..and the more i think about it..i want to take it at night.

its fine to switch times right?
Answer:
switching the times is ok, as long as you do it in the first week. i took yasmin and foudn that it was easier to take it in the evening, especially if it made me sick. remember, it is not effective for the first week you take it.
No problem. Take the second pill tomorrow night. It does take an entire month to become effective, though. I've been on birth control for three years and it has helped a lot with cramping, PMS, and the obvious reasons! I think you'll like it!
It's OK to switch in the first week. Remember, you are NOT protected from pregancy yet.

- BUT -

When it comes to something important as your reproductive health, don't rely on answers from total strangers!

Pick up the phone and call your doctor or a Planned Parenthood. Be sure to READ the literature that comes with your birth control - or any medication. Your doctor should always discuss new medications with you in-depth, and be available to answer any follow-up questions you may have.

You only get one body. Make sure your mind does its part.

Birth control/menstrual question?

this month i decided to skip my green pills because we were going camping during the time i was supposed to be on my period. well instead of not getting my period, i discharged a dark brown thick 'goop' the entire week, and this week. A total of now two weeks of this. I know this isn't normal, and was wondering if anyone has any idea what it could be.
Answer:
You don't mention which birth control pill you're on, but phasic pills (ones where the level of hormone changes from week to week in the pills) make it more difficult to skip periods by just not taking the inactive pills. Green pills make me think you may be on Ortho-tri cyclen or ortho-tri-cyclen lo, which is a phasic pill. What you're experiencing is normal, and may actually continue until your green pills for this pack. It will end though.

In the future, if you want to skip a period, and you're on a phasic pill, what you can do is either get two packs at once, label them A and B and take them as follows:

Pack A, week 1
Pack B, week 1
Pack A week 2
Pack B, week 2
Pack A, week 3
Pack B, week 3,
Pack A, week four

throw out the green pills from pack B. When you've taken all seven green pills from pack A, begin a new pack at the beginning.

Another way to skip your period with phasic pills is to take the first pack, week 1, week 2, week 3, and then take the second pack backwards, beginning with the third week of pills, followed by the second, and then ending with the first, then taking seven days of green pills.
actually it is, I was on my period, which was so unvbelievably heavy, for a month after I got off birth control. I think that goop is an accumilation of lining (your period is when the lining if your uterus comes off every month).
wow. i have no idea. i so wish i could help.
Let that be a lesson to you. It's not nice to fool with Mother Nature.
