Ok, so for the last year i was on birth control pills. I recently stopped(bout a month ago)taken them. My question is how soon does your body go back to normal and how soon can u become pregnant? Thanks!

It depends on your body and the pill you were on. The shot has about 3 months of hormone in it, an IUD 5-10 years, the ring 3 weeks, the pill a couple days. For the pill, coming off it, it can take someone as little as a few days to a few months and for some even over a year to have their period come back, or go back to being normal. The body takes 6 months to a year to regulate off of hormones.
I would say that it's not a matter of how soon you can become pregnant than how soon you feel your body is ready. If you are getting your period naturally every month, I'd say wait 6 months to make sure the hormones are pretty much out of your system.

you're able to get pregnant after your first cycle after stopping birth control, although OB's will tell you to wait a couple of cycles, just so you can verify conception correctly.
i don't think there is a correct answer for this. It really depends on your body. I know someone who got pregnant within a month of going off the pill and i had another friend who took more then year...

Birth Control Question.?
I feel silly asking this kind of question, since I've been on birth control for over 11 years now... But my doctor switched me to Levora about 10 months ago, (I had been on Ortho Cycline.. Not Tri Cycline, just Cycline.). I've never had any side effects, which supposedly I should have noticed any around the first 3 months or so... For the past few days I've noticed breast swelling and intense soreness/tenderness, some stomach cramping/nausea, fatigue, apetite changes and a little firming of the lower abdomin area... Most of these are side effects of Levora, and most b/c pills in general, but they are all also signs of pregnancy. Obviously I plan on taking a pregnancy test and/or seeing my doctor, but I just had a normal, but short period on May 25-May 28. If I am in fact pregnant, I'm only 2 weeks along, not long enough for an accurate test or to notice a missed period or to see my doctor. Would I be noticing so many symptoms so soon? Any advice would be great.

i think its def. signs that you have changed your birth control, but like you said you have been taking the pills etc fo 11 years and so most women would not have gotten pregnant this early on even after switching pills. to me it sounds like you are having too many side effects with the new pill and should just ask your doctor why he switched you. i get switched lately it seems every year because my cholesterol is rising and my weight has been rising, but you on the other hand did not seem to get a reason why you were switched. im on the east coast but have never heard of this levora. im on the yaz and it also has shortened my period, which is great because it is consistent, but otherwise there are no other side effects. i would again, talk to your doctor and tell him or her youre not sure you like this Levora and ask more about how long its been around
You can be pregnant even if you're on birth control and you can have a "period" when you are first pregnant (usually different shorter/lighter than your 'normal' period).
And, yes, I had my symptoms about when or just before I should have gotten my period.
Don't take the pill, use alternative birth control methods, and pick up a couple pregnancy tests. Check. Then check a week later.
Then, talk to your doctor (either way, pregnant or not).
And our body's hormones fluctuate all the time. You may be just now experiencing those 'common' symptoms of your birth control.
hum, i think i can help. i changed my birth control from yasmin to loestrin 24 and i got a lot of the symptoms you have described. for 2 months straight i got my period 2 times a month, and then last month i had a very light period, and then this month it's heavy. my lower abdomen is firm and i experience fatigue, very sensitive breasts for most of the month and cramps. i think you are just experiencing symptoms from the birthcontrol, but if you are very concerned i'd advise you to go see your doc. hope this helped!

Some women do, but I have been on it for almost 3 years and I am as scrawny as ever, although it did make my boobs go up 2 cup sizes. This is because the pill contains the same hormone your body releases during puberty that makes your breasts grow.
Some women retain fluid while on the pill, and this makes them appear bigger. Others eat more on the pill or they may just gain weight even if they dont have an increased appetite.
Or you may not get any of this! Women all react differently to the pill...some also have problems with a certain doseage or brand, but are fine with others. So if you have a problem with the pill, try a different dose or brand.

BIrth control question HELP!!!?
I have been off the birh control shot since like may 23,2007 but i have been on my period for almost two months straight, i took advil for like 2 weeks but i saw no cahnge. What can i do for it to be back regular and will it ever go back to normal. ( if so how long will it take)

It will get back to normal it depends how long you were on the shot because you never had a period on the shot. And you willl just have to wait it out and it will get back to normal it may be a while but that all depends on how long you were on the shot.

It is normal for your period to be irregular after you stop getting Depo. Your body needs to get used to the changes in hormones. Have you considered using the pill or other types of birth control? If you are having continuous heavy bleeding then I would reccomend you see a doctor.
You really need to get checked out. Bleeding for that long will cause anemia, and you need to get treated for it. You may have to take birth control pills for a bit to get your period more regulated. This is just not normal and very unhealthy for you.

The doctor warned me that a small percentage of women with have the side effect of being on their period for the whole three months that the shot lasts. Unfortunately, I guess we're in that percentage. There was really nothing I could do but wait until all of the hormones were out of my system (3 whole months!). After the first shot I never tried it again, but the doctor said that there's a chance that your periods could go back to normal after a few more months. So I guess it's up to you if you give it another chance or switch to something else. After that I tried the ortho evra patch and that works great for me.

Birth control problem.?
This is my second month on birth control for health reasons. Even thou it's for health reason I still take it every day at the same day. My husband has a vasectomy and been cleared from the doctor that he shotting blanks. I am a little worried because my period is two days late. I took a pregnancie test today and came out negative. i've recently gone on the pill, and before going on it, i was able to hold my alcohol etremely well. now that i'm taking the pill and drinking, ive been extremely sick after 2 drinks with not too much alcohol in them. my doc never told me that i'd get this bad, or for that matter she didnt mention drinking with the pill at all. i thought it was maybe just a fluke but it has happened more than once. can i prevent this?
